The story of Positran is not that of a business plan written in an office, but of a chance encounter, an intellectual spark, and a persistent question. It begins in London in 1999.
That year, Ilona Boniwell, then a student, crossed paths by chance with Martin Seligman, the founder of positive psychology. This encounter led to a mentorship that inspired her to devote herself to the science of human flourishing.
Her work led her to found the first Master's degree in Applied Positive Psychology (MAPP) in Europe, which quickly became a benchmark. Yet, amidst this success, one question kept coming up from her students, most of whom were already professionals:
“It’s exciting, but how can we actually apply it in business?”
This question was more than just a query. It was a call to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and the reality of the working world, with its performance imperatives, team dynamics, and daily challenges.
Ilona understood that theory, however brilliant, was not enough. A place was needed to experiment, translate, and adapt. Positran was founded as a laboratory for social innovation.
Positran's mission was structured around several fundamental axes:

Traduire et vulgariser
Taking the elements of scientific research and translating them into language and formats that everyone in business can understand.

Design and innovate
Taking the elements of scientific research and translating them into language and formats that everyone in business can understand.

Test and mesure
Test these innovations in the field, in partnership with companies of all sizes, to ensure their effectiveness and relevance.

Activate and anchor
Change cannot be sustainable if it is experienced as a constraint. Our approach is engaging, interactive, and gamified.
The goal has never been to allow companies to simply check a "well-being" box in their CSR plan. The ambition is to initiate a real transformation: to transform corporate cultures, leadership styles, and ultimately, the professional lives of employees so that they can engage, perform sustainably, and thrive.
Thus, from this meeting in London to the recurring question from his students, the story of Positran is that of a bridge patiently built between the science of happiness and the daily grind of work. A solid bridge, based on evidence, and crossed every day by thousands of people in search of more authentic fulfillment.
Today, this mission has become ours. We are a team of passionate individuals united by a simple belief: people must be at the heart of everything we do. It's the starting point for each of our thoughts and the purpose of each of our actions.
